White mulberry is a plant with delicious, healthy fruits. They resemble raspberries, although they are a different color. Dried they make a delicious snack!

The plant is native to China, where it was originally grown as food for the mulberry silkworm. After a while, it gained popularity around the world. It is grown for ornamental purposes, the leaves are used for medicinal purposes, the fruits are edible, while the wood can be used to make furniture

Mulberry fruit can have different colors, depending on its variety. In Poland, white mulberry is the king, other species are:

  • african,
  • chinese,
  • black,
  • red,
  • texas.

Our variety on the tree has a pearly white color, and after drying it falls into creamy shades. Dried white mulberry gets a sweeter taste, without losing its natural medicinal properties.

It likes to be stored in a dry and cool place. Then it repays us with the appropriate crunchiness and sweetness, which will make more than one evening on the couch or an active holiday outside the house, when we need to replenish calories quickly

Nutritional values of dried mulberry

White mulberry fruits are a realsuperfood. They contain a set of vitamins and minerals. In addition, they have antioxidants and essential amino acids in them - which we can not produce ourselves.

It has also been shown thatcyanidins present in these little balls protect our brains from degeneration, preventing the development of Alzheimer's disease. To some extent, they lower bad cholesterol levels and exhibit antioxidant properties. Thus, we take care of what we can't see, but which is very important for a long and healthy life in good shape!

It has been scientifically proven that mulberry is a greattool for fighting diabetes and obesity. The compounds in it help control blood sugar levels. Of course, people with diabetes should consult the consumption of the plant with their doctor, but it is a good and tasty clue when arranging menus.

Dried white mulberry - how to eat it

It's a good snack, but also a great addition to desserts, smoothies or oatmeal. It can sweeten our meals and supplement them with vitamins.

Fruits are used to prepare liqueurs, tinctures, wines and preserves. It will help replenish our winter pantry. It will be appreciated by any avid cook who likes to have plenty of nutritious supplies at home.
