Hummus with smoked paprika mainly consists of chickpeas and sesame paste. Chickpeas are a good source of the B vitamins riboflavin and niacin, which support the functioning of the nervous system and are involved in the formation of red blood platelets. Chickpeas are also a very good source of vitamin B5, vitamin B6 and vitamin B1, as well as folic acid. Sesame belongs to the oilseeds. It is characterized by high resistance to oxidation processes which is due to the presence of sesamol and its derivatives. It shows anticancer activity.
