Directions for use

Pour a teaspoon of matcha tea over a small amount of warm water in a teapot and stir vigorously with a bamboo stirrer until all the matcha dissolves and a characteristic thick foam forms on the surface. Then slowly add water so that you get a portion of about 200 ml. A traditional bamboo chasen, or stirring stick, is best for stirring. Matcha can also be prepared with a handheld milk frother, and replace the traditional bowl with a glass or mug. The water should be at a temperature of about 80-C. You can get it by using a kettle with a temperature gauge or by setting aside a regular kettle with boiling water for 10 minutes. Matcha should not be poured over boiling water as it loses some of its nutritional properties then.
