Coffees from the western regions of Honduras are renowned as some of the finest in the country. They are cultivated in the highest mountainous areas, at high altitudes, in a moderate climate and lower temperatures. This promotes slower fruit maturation and increases bean density, resulting in a desirable flavour profile. It is characterized by the sweetness of cane sugar with notes of caramel, cocoa, and dark chocolate, a delicate peach aftertaste, and a light citrus acidity.
